New year, new things happening!
All right, we're gearing up for St. Valentine's and St. Patrick's here at Dead Pleasures. Melvin is happily chomping away on roses and parsley, Amanda is double-checking our books and moving products, and I'm making them as quickly as I can! We will be announcing our 2nd Annual St. Patrick's Day Contest soon, as well, so check back later this month!
We got several wonderful presents for Christmas this year from concerned family members who were worried about my joints in this cold weather getting overworked from shaping wire all the time. So now we have several wire-shaping mandrels (circular, ovoid, squared, and triangular), a ring mandrel that will make rings in sizes 6 to 16, and a coiling gizmo! What does this mean for you? First off, we can be more creative in our designs with wire. Second, we can now produce rings again, which we haven't been able to do for several years (when our friend with the ring mandrel we were using moved and took it with her). Third, you can look forward to more wire-wrapped jewelry, since each piece will have a faster manufacturing time. Fourth, we can make our own wire beads again, which gives you more options for customizing your special orders!
Essentially, this equates to better workflow for us and more quality designs for you to choose from. On the right you'll find a preview of what we're doing with our new toys! This ring was made with the ring mandrel and a combination of hand-wrapped wire and wire coils made with the coiling gizmo, and we had so much fun experimenting with these techniques again! Unfortunately, this particular piece is not for sale; it was made for myself as an experiment in techniques we haven't used for a while (hooray! I wasn't at all rusty), and is fitted to my hand. Not to mention on the side that isn't photographed, Miss Melvin Bunny left her mark by chewing on it. We love it when our little ginger-furred mascot participates, right?
